Follow the steps below to properly install, use, and maintain your keycaps — and set up VIA for full key remapping on your UR65 keyboard.

Preparation Turn off or disconnect your keyboard. Have a keycap puller ready. |
💡 A wire keycap puller is recommended to avoid scratching. |

Remove Existing Keycaps Grip both sides of the keycap with the puller and pull straight up. |
⚠️ Avoid twisting or rocking to prevent switch damage. |

Install New Keycaps Align the keycap with the cross-shaped switch stem and press straight down until you hear a click. |

Check & Adjust Press each keycap individually to confirm firm seating with no wobble or misalignment. |

🔧 Step 2 — Install & Configure VIA

| 1️⃣ | Install VIA | Run the downloaded installer (Windows) or open the .dmg file (macOS) and follow the on-screen instructions. |
| 2️⃣ | Connect UR65 | Plug your UR65 keyboard into your computer via USB before launching VIA. |
| 3️⃣ | Load UR65.JSON | Open VIA → go to Settings → enable "Show Design tab" → click the Design tab → click "Load" and select your downloaded UR65.json file. |
| 4️⃣ | Detect Keyboard | Switch to the Configure tab. VIA should automatically detect your UR65. If not, try unplugging and replugging the keyboard. |
